What the authority reported
Issue: On a small number of trucks, the left-rear brake could become damaged by contact with the suspension. This could lead to reduced braking.
Safety Risk: Reduced braking can cause extended stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions: PACCAR will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to reroute the rear brake piping.
What to do
Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
