What the authority reported

Issue: On certain ambulances, the equipment support cushion installed at the end of the squad bench seat may not be properly attached. As a result, the cushion could detach and hit an occupant in a crash.

Safety Risk: An equipment support cushion that hits an occupant could create a risk of injury.

Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, Demers advises that, when possible, you should avoid installing equipment on the cushion until the recall repairs have been completed. Demers will notify owners by mail and provide a repair kit and instructions for how to replace the equipment support cushion.

What to do

Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
