What the authority reported
Issue: On certain vehicles, the connector for the blower motor may have been damaged. As a result, the connector could fail and could cause the windshield defrost system not to work properly. This could cause the vehicles not to meet the requirements of Canadian regulations. Note: This recall affects both the Grand Cherokee and Grand Cherokee L models. Safety Risk: A windshield defroster that doesn't work may cause reduced visibility and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: FCA Canada will notify owners in writing and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the blower motor assembly.
What to do
Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
