What the authority reported

Issue: On a small number of RV trailers, a carbon monoxide detector may not have been installed during production. As a result, occupants may not be alerted if there's a carbon monoxide buildup inside the trailer.

Safety Risk: A buildup of carbon monoxide inside the trailer could result in asphyxiation or carbon monoxide poisoning.

Corrective Actions: Bontrager Industries will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your RV trailer to a dealership to install a carbon monoxide detector.

What to do

Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
