What the authority reported
Issue: On certain vehicles, the shifter cable may detach. As a result, the transmission may not shift gears when the shifter is moved. Additionally, if the vehicle isn't in the Park (P) position, and the parking brake isn't applied, the vehicle could roll away. Note: This recall only affects vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission. Vehicles that were repaired under V34 (Transport Canada recall no. 2019-183) also require this repair.
Safety Risk: A parked vehicle that rolls away could create the risk of an injury or a crash.
Corrective Actions: FCA Canada will notify owners in writing. The corrective actions for this recall are under development.
What to do
Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
