What the authority reported
Issue: On certain trucks, the fasteners for the axle clamp(s) may not have been tightened properly. As a result, the clamps could loosen. If this happens, the axle could move and cause a loss of steering control. Note: This recall only affects certain trucks equipped with a TufTrac Gen 2 suspension.
Safety Risk: A loss of steering control could create the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions: Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) will notify the owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a DTNA authorized service facility to inspect and tighten the axle clamp fasteners. The axle clamp castings will be replaced, as necessary.
What to do
Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
