What the authority reported

Issue: One motorhome was incorrectly manufactured with eight seat belts, but only seven should have been installed. As a result, the cargo carrying capacity would be incorrect, as the weight of each belted seating position is included in that calculation. This could lead to overloading of the motorhome and cause poor handling or a tire failure.

Safety Risk: Poor handling or a tire failure could cause a loss of control and result in a crash.

Corrective Actions: The affected motorhome has not been delivered to a customer. Forest River will instruct the dealer to remove one of the seat belts before the motorhome is delivered.
