What the authority reported

Issue: On certain electric vehicles, the reverse sound of the pedestrian warning system may not be loud enough. Canadian regulations require electric vehicles to make a minimum sound level when operating at low speeds.

Safety Risk: A pedestrian warning system that isn't loud enough could create an increased risk of injury for other road users.

Corrective Actions: Toyota will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the acoustic vehicle alerting system (AVAS) software.
