What the authority reported

Issue: Under certain conditions after the fire truck has been auto-leveled, a software problem could cause the firm-on-ground system light to remain on after the rear stabilizer loses contact with the ground. As a result, the fire truck could shift when the aerial device is being used. Note: This recall only affects certain fire trucks equipped with a single rear axle.

Safety Risk: A fire truck that shifts while the aerial device is being used could create a risk of injury.

Corrective Actions: Pierce will notify owners by mail and provide you with instructions for how to update the vehicle software and perform an aerial device functionality check. Alternatively, you may schedule an appointment to have the software update performed at a Pierce dealership.
