What the authority reported
Issue: On certain trucks, the power distribution center (PDC) box may be contaminated by oil and could fail. If this happens, there could be a sudden loss of power to the wheels. This problem could also cause the antilock brake system, exterior lighting, windshield wipers and/or defrost system not to work.
Safety Risk: A loss of power to the wheels and an antilock braking system that don't work could increase the risk of a crash. Exterior lights, windshield wipers and/or a defrost system that don't work could reduce visibility and also increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions: PACCAR will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the PDC box.
