What the authority reported

Issue: On certain vehicles, the wireless seat belt reminder system within the rear seat belt buckles may not work correctly. As a result, the rear seat belt status indicators in the instrument panel may incorrectly show that a seat belt is buckled when it's not. Safety Risk: A seat belt reminder that doesn't work correctly could create confusion. Not wearing a seat belt increases the risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the rear seat belts and replace the wireless rear seat belt buckle(s), as necessary.
