What the authority reported

Issue: On certain electric school buses, a wire harness could become damaged by contact with a metal bracket. If this happens, there could be a sudden loss of power to the wheels. Note: This problem could also prevent the school bus from charging.

Safety Risk: A loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash.

Corrective measures: Micro Bird will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your school bus to a dealership to secure the wire harness. The wire harness will also be inspected and, if necessary, replaced.

What to do

Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
