What the authority reported

A small number of Transit vehicles have been manufactured with an incorrect tow bar that does not meet the correct load specifications. It is important for the affected vehicles to be returned to a Ford Authorised Dealer. If the tow load is in excess of 2600kg this could potentially result in the trailer becoming detached or the tow bar assembly being damaged. A detached trailer or a damaged tow bar could increase the risk of an accident. Remedy: Install the correct tow bar free of charge parts and labour.

What to do

Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
