What the authority reported
A number of Focus vehicles have been identified where the warning chimes may not be operating as intended. The chimes may not be audible when the driver is not holding the steering wheel for longer than 30 seconds while using Lane Centering Assist which does not meet ECE regulations. Remedy: Updating software in control unit.
What to do
Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
