What the authority reported
On affected vehicles the Motor Control Unit does not communicate with the Body Control Unit. This may cause an immobiliser malfunction leading to a possible vehicle non-start and anti-theft protection not guaranteed. Remedy: Pair the Motor Control Unit with the Body Control Unit.
What to do
Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
