What the authority reported
Vehicles with unleaded lower main bearings can suffer serious engine damage if the engine oil is old or contaminated, or if unauthorised oils or filters are used. Poor lubrication can lead to overheating and seizing or breaking of internal engine parts. If a connecting rod breaks and the crankcase ruptures, there is an increased risk of fire.
What to do
Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
