What the authority reported

Issue: On certain transit buses, the ground connection on the bus bar in the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) roof unit, may not have been tightened properly. As a result, the connection could loosen and overheat. This problem could also cause the engine to stall.

Safety Risk: Wiring that overheats can create the risk of a fire. A sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash.

Corrective Actions: Nova Bus will notify owners by mail and provide you with instructions for how to inspect and, if necessary, tighten the ground connection.

What to do

Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
