What the authority reported

Issue: On certain buses, the emergency brake valve may not have been installed correctly. As a result, the valve could become loose or disconnect and cause an air leak. If this happens, the parking brake could apply suddenly while driving without the brake lights turning on.

Safety Risk: A parking brake that self-applies suddenly while driving without the brake lights turning on could cause a person not to recognize that the vehicle is braking. This could increase the risk of a crash.

Corrective actions: Nova Bus will notify owners by mail and provide you with instructions for how to inspect and reassemble the air-line connections correctly.

What to do

Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
