What the authority reported
Issue: Under certain conditions, a software problem could cause the headlamps to flicker.
Safety Risk: Headlamps that flicker could cause reduced visibility and could create a distraction for oncoming drivers. Both issues could increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions: General Motors will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace a module in the headlamp that includes the correct software.
What to do
Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
