What the authority reported

Issue: On certain trucks, the electric parking brake actuator may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the parking brake could drag and cause the brakes to overheat. Note: This problem could cause the parking brake warning lamp to turn on in the instrument cluster.

Safety Risk: Overheated brakes could create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Mitsubishi Fuso will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to replace the electric parking brake actuator. The dealer will also inspect and, if necessary, replace the parking brake assembly.

What to do

Follow the instructions in the official notice — recall remedies (refund, repair, replacement, or disposal) are defined by the issuing authority and the responsible business, and they differ per recall. Do not rely on summaries, including this one.
